Jiu Jitsu Coach Kody Steele

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Assistant Instructor

Kody Steele began his martial arts career in Washington state when he was in 7th grade. He first started wrestling in the folk style (AKA collegiate wrestling) and then when the season came to an end Kody took up freestyle wrestling and Greco Roman style wrestling. He then went on to compete and placed 3rd in the state of Washington for freestyle wrestling. Soon after Kody moved to Austin, TX for his senior year of high-school, but unfortunately for Kody there was no wrestling program at his school so that’s when he started to look into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu(BJJ) and that’s when he found Rodrigo Cabral Jiu Jitsu. After that Kody began training full time for four years as he went on to compete and place 8 times at the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation(IBJJF), then he became the Houston Open champion as well as the Austin Open champion and continues to compete in Jiu Jitsu events. Kody still actively trains BJJ and has also made the transition into Muay Thai about one year ago and plans on fighting in both MMA and Muay Thai events.
